COFFEE MAN STRIKES AGAIN!
ProCharger-powered racer Joe Decaria, better known as Coffee Man, recently made some changes to his street driven (practically daily driven) 2011 Mustang GT 5.0 with a Ford Racing Aluminator crate engine. He changed from a ProCharger F-1A to a ProCharger F-1C supercharger. Coffee Man’s upgrades were done to up the boost (22 psi) and to allow for him to lean on it much harder out of the hole. He’s looking for it to run 8.8’s on a regular basis.
Prior to the supercharger change, Coffee Man achieved 9.16 @ 150 mph with 900rwhp – and this was before the upgrade to the F-1C! (video below)
Now with the ProCharger F-1C installed, Joe “Coffee Man” Decaria hit the track earlier this month and hit his record best time of 9.01 @ 151 mph, and also a new best of 60′ of 1.35 (shown below). This car has a factory automatic transmission and a weight of 3880 lbs. He is knocking on the door of the 8’s, and will be there soon!
Other Coffee Man news: he and his ProCharged Mustang competed in the 2012 5.0 Mustang and Super Fords “King of the Street Competition” and is “rumored” to be the winner, but that won’t be made official until the magazine hits newsstands. He’s also planning on being at the NMRA season opener in Bradenton, March 7-10th – this just may be another supercharged record-setting weekend for the Coffee Man, reaching the 8’s he’s been striving for. Congrats on your accomplishments this year, and best of luck for the upcoming season Joe.
