PROCHARGED JIM BLAIR SCORES SEASON-OPENING NMCA WIN IN BRADENTON
Long-time ProCharger racer Jim Blair made it clear that he will be a force in the 2009 NMCA Super Street Outlaw competition.
The NMCA season opener at Bradenton Motorsports Park turned out to be a great return for Blair’s Automatic Transmission Factory-backed and ProCharger-powered “Silver Bullet” Mustang. Blair owns and drives the 2,500+ horsepower Super Street 10.5 Mustang down the quarter mile in the 6 second zone in excess of 200 MPH.
The ATF team has worked hard over the winter prepping the car, only to be faced with 20-30 MPH head winds during qualifying. Making the most out of his ProCharged power and driving skills, Blair qualified third in a field of 14 competitors on Saturday with a 6.98 @ 198 MPH.
Advancing through eliminations, Blair lined up in the finals against Spiro Pappas. Blair cut an outstanding tree and left hard against Pappas. Unfortunately, Pappas lost traction, broke loose and hit the wall hard. Pappas’ car was destroyed, but thankfully, the racer was OK.

Congratulations to Blair and his entire team on their season-opening NMCA Super Street Outlaw win!
The Bradenton event also marked the NMCA debut of ProCharger racer, Bo Butner. A current NHRA Record Holder in Comp Eliminator, Butner now campaigns his Chevrolet Cobalt powered by a ProCharger F-3R enhanced big block Chevy in NMCA’s Super Street Outlaw class.
Keep your eyes on this class in 2009 as these and other ProCharger racers look to claim even more wins and season championships.
