PROCHARGER WINS ANOTHER HOT ROD MAGAZINE’S DRAG WEEK CHAMPIONSHIP
The dynamic duo of Scott Smith and Jake Bratner of Jake’s Performance Fabrication teamed up for one powerful and reliable ProCharged combination to compete at this year’s Hot Rod Magazine’s grueling Drag Week. This competition consists of not only having to run down the quarter-mile, but also having to drive from track to track each day. Four different tracks in five different days, while driving over 1400 miles is NO JOKE!
Scott and Jake competed in the big block power adder class with the following combination: 1980 Chevy Malibu weighing in at a robust 3600lbs. To move this behemoth down the track (and highway) the team used the “tried and true” F3-135 reverse rotation belt drive blower that produces over 30psi on a 509 cu.in. big block Chevy. Running a blow-thru style dominator carburetor this awesome power plant coupled to the F3 made over 2000 horsepower and also managed 10 miles per gallon during Drag Week! The team ran a best ET of 7.82 @ 189 mph; this was done on the fourth day of the competition after driving well over 1,000 miles!
ProCharger would like to congratulate Scott and Jake for taking home the title in the Big Block Power- Adder class and for also taming the beast known as Hot Rod’s Drag Week!
